Inspiration
This multiple award–winning coffee comes from the micro-region of Hoja Blanca (White Flower) in Huehuetenango, where it’s lovingly grown by Juan and Milton Villatoro. The area is uniquely suited for Red Bourbon cultivars—blessed with the perfect balance of sun, shade, and rainfall, rich volcanic soils, and an ideal elevation that allows the cherries to mature slowly and develop incredible depth.
Juan and his family have been producing exceptional coffees for more than three generations. Remarkably, they are among the very few families in Guatemala to place in the top ten of the Cup of Excellence in over 75% of the competitions they’ve entered—an extraordinary legacy of consistency and craftsmanship.
This coffee is Juan and his son’s “special microlot,” and it completely captivated us when we first visited the region in 2018. It was, without question, the best Guatemalan coffee we tasted that year—and eight years later, it still holds that place in our hearts.
